The University of California Press has just published COAL HOLLOW,
Photographs by Ken Light and Oral Histories by Melanie Light. The book
has
been produced in a hardbound edition, 152 pages, 94 duotones photographs,
each with a block varnish. The printing was supervised by the photographer. By
arrangement with the press, we are offering a special collector’s
edition. Each edition comes with a signed, hardbound book, in a handmade
black cloth slipcase made by master bookbinder Grant Milford. The case
has a
tipped in print of the cover image printed on Fuji Crystal Archive paper.
This slipcase book is limited to 70 sets. Sets 1-30 contain two gelatin silver prints and sets 31-70 contain one
silver gelatin print. In addition, there are 5 artist proofs. About the Prints Each print is personally handmade by the photographer in his darkroom
from
the original negative. The prints were printed archivally on Agfa Classic
fiber base gelatin silver paper no longer available, and selenium toned,
signed and stamped on the verso by the photographer.
Each print is limited to an edition of 30 on 8 x 10 paper. |
